Benchmark Psychiatric Services, LTD. is a mental health organization dedicated to the provision of child, adult, geriatric, and family wellness. We offer comprehensive, office-based and on-site psychiatric and counseling services to our clients. Services are currently provided through our offices in Orland Park, IL and on-site at numerous skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Illinois. We strive to provide a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and treatment of emotional, behavioral, and cognitive difficulties.
Nathan R. Jaisingh, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who has studied at Morehead State University, in Morehead, KY, Rush University in Chicago, IL, and the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. His graduate and doctoral areas of focus include adolescent, adult, and geriatric psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and clinical practice & research with competitive athletes in improving overall performance through mental strength coaching.
Nathan R. Jaisingh founded Benchmark Psychiatric Services, LTD. in 2002, with the primary endeavor centered on geriatric psychiatry and psychopharmacology - with the goal of delivering stellar services on-site to long term care facilities. This model has grown from a single provider in two facilities, to now 15 providers in nearly 65 facilities in Illinois and Kentucky - and still growing!
After two and a half years of research and development, Nathan R. Jaisingh identified a significant need for a comprehensive program specifically structured for professional, collegiate, and competitive pre-collegiate athletes. From this, Integrative Athletic Enhancement (IAE) was created.
Nathan R. Jaisingh is a Frank G. Dickey Fellow of the University of Kentucky and is an avid University of Kentucky athletics supporter. He is also a fervent Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan, having now lived in the Chicagoland area since 2000.
Nathan R. Jaisingh is married to a wonderful wife, Nicole, and together raise 3 delightful & inspiring children.
Amanda Amiti is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, and graduate of Walden University in Minneapolis, MN where she received a Master of Science in Nursing degree. During her graduate studies, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing. Amanda is currently attending the post-masters Psychiatric – Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program through the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, with expected completion May of 2020.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of healthcare settings including Labor & Delivery/Nursery/Post-Partum, Women's Health, outpatient health clinics, Home Health, and Long-Term Care are facilities. Amanda spent much of her time with the Alzheimer’s/Dementia geriatric population - that sparked her interest in Geriatric psychiatric disorders. It was also during her experience while working Home Health in Peoria, Illinois where she saw the prevalence of Psychiatric needs and became passionate about filling that void of Mental Health providers.
Amanda provides care to residents in several Long-Term Care facilities, and at our outpatient offices, performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking at Starved Rock, sampling varieties of teas and coffees from around the world and participating in events at the local YMCA. She also enjoys traveling Macedonia, her husband’s country of origin, with her husband and 2 daughters visiting her family and friends from afar.
Charles Preyar received his A.B. from Lincoln University of Missouri and his M.S.W. from the University of Illinois of Chicago. He is a certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of The Academy of Certified Social Workers.
Charles provides services to aid his colleagues in career development, such as clinical supervision for assistant social workers and other counselors.
Clinically, he has a focus and expertise encompassing Depression and Anxiety disorders in the context of the individual, family, and group setting.
Charles has provided services in outpatient clinics, social service agencies, churches, private homes, and currently through Benchmark Psychiatric Services, LTD. in long term care facilities.
After working for 10 years in non-profit, Chrysta Pozdol joined Benchmark in 2014. As the Director of Operations, Chrysta enjoys creating support and organizational systems for the Benchmark providers and staff, ensuring they are equipt to deliver the highest level of quality care to our patients. Directly assisting President and CEO, Nathan Jaisingh, Chrysta coordinates operational procedures, manages the administrative support team, and directs develpment to ensure the vision and mission of Benchmark Mind & Health is being engaged throughout all divisions of the organization. She works closely with the marketing and buisness growth department to expand brand recognition and relationships both online and in the community.
Chrysta has also worked professionally as a singer, songwriter, and musician. She currently volunteers as song leader at Smith Crossing Retirement Community Sunday service through Parkview Christian Church. She enjoys practicing yoga, teaching music lessons, and spending time with beloved family.
Debbi Del Re, APRN, PMHNP is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who has worked in mental health and psychiatric nursing for more than 25 years. She has experience in the areas of crisis intervention, PTSD, life transitions, LGBTQ, chronic mental illness, depression, grief, mood disorders, dementia, and anxiety.
Debbi uses a biopsychosocial approach to care, taking into consideration each client’s biological, psychological, and social factors and their complex interactions to best understand the individual’s health, illness, and treatment needs. “I am dedicated to instilling hope in my patients, while helping each patient move towards their own personal best – emotionally, mentally, and physically through the use of individualized pharmacological and psychotherapy treatment.”
Debbi received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Elmhurst College and her master’s in nursing from Northern Illinois University. She received her post-master’s certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from University of St. Francis.
As the morning receptionist at Benchmark, Joni is the smiling face and pleasant voice that you will be greeted by when you enter or call the office. Joni is very passionate about providing a professional and friendly 'service with a smile' during client appointment check-in and while addressing scheduling needs. Joni has worked in communication and customer service with AT&T for 40 years, this experience allows her to provide excellent support on many levels at Benchmark!
Joni has 3 grown children and 2 awesome grandsons. She loves to refurbish furniture, scrapbook, and enjoys taking walks in nature. Joni is very involved at her church and organizing volunteers providing care and support to the less fortunate. She leads a group that goes by the name of "Angels of Hope" in providing weekly encouragement, care, and support to women and children who are struggling as a result of a loved one's incarceration.
As the evening receptionist at Benchmark Mind + Health, Judy is the smiling face and pleasant voice that you will be greeted by when you enter or call the office. She is, most likely, the person who will check you in for your appointment and assist you with scheduling your follow up appointement. Judy has over 15 years' experience working in medical administration and provides excellent support on many levels including patient care quality, scheduling, communication, and billing.
Judy is a very proud mother and grandmother. In addition to her love of couponing, she is an avid Sudoku player and loves horseback riding.
As Office Manager since 2009, Lisa is a central column of our office operations team. If you are a patient, you are likely to speak with Lisa regarding scheduling, discussion of billing matters, your insurance coverage or related. Lisa provides support on many levels including provider scheduling, human resources, patient care quality, and she works tirelessly to ensure the office is a clean, comortable, and safe environment for our providers and patients.
In addition to being the proud Mother of a former US Marine and a doting Grandma, Lisa is a cancer survivor. She recently fought and beat Lymphoma and has been in remission since 2012. Lisa resides in Orland Hills, IL and is an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.
Mary B. Wells is a Board Certified Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner with a long-standing interest in psychiatric care and long-term care. Ms. Wells has completed Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) post-master’s certificate in the spring of 2019. At Benchmark she sees patients for psychiatric evaluations and medication management. She is available to see patients in the outpatient setting at Benchmark’s office in Orland Park.
Ms. Wells graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing in 1979. She obtained a Master of Nursing degree from Aurora University with a specialization in Nursing Informatics (computers) in 1988. In 2000, Ms. Wells obtained a massage therapy diploma. She obtained her Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Master’s degree in 2014 from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. She holds Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
For over 10 years, Ms. Wells held positions at two different state mental health facilities. She has worked in Long Term Care, taught in the nursing program at Aurora University and taught in the massage and certified nursing assistant programs at Waubonsee Community College. She was Dean of Student Services at a private massage therapy school. Ms. Wells owned and operated a private medical massage therapy business and employed 5 therapists and 15 continuing education providers for over seven years. She has also worked as an occupational health nurse and as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois prison system.
To de-stress, Ms. Wells works with fiber of all kinds – Knitting, spinning, weaving, basket-making, papermaking, sewing and print-making as well as many other fiber modes. She also enjoys yoga, massage, and baking.
Melanie Fordham is an Orland Park native and a certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2009. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Middle Tennessee State University in Child Development and Family Studies. She went on and obtained her Master’s in Social Work from University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
Melanie has significant experience working with the geriatric population. She has worked in various agencies for seniors throughout our community. Over the past three years, she has also gained additional experience through counseling adults in their home and working with individuals struggling with weight loss. Melanie’s main approach in therapy focuses on cognitive behavior therapy as well as motivational interviewing and mindfulness practices. She focuses on meeting the individual where they are and working with the individual to problem solve the challenges they face. Her clinical interests include helping individuals with a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, weight loss, and familial issues.
Melanie and her husband, Matt, have the joy of raising two young girls who, so far, are the best of friends. Together, they enjoy visits to the city, spending time with family and friends, going to the park and talking long walks.
Michele Racanelli received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Elmhurst College and her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Lewis University. She went on to obtain a certificate in addictions after completing graduate school and while completing an internship, found her passion for working with those battling or affected by addiction.
Michele’s varied experience includes working in residential addictions and school settings as well as private practice. Her interests include working with addictions, trauma, depression, anxiety, family issues, and dealing with the stress of daily life. Her integrative approach includes providing a warm, safe environment to discuss issues and gain insight. Using client-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches while she collaborates with her clients, Michele helps guide with empathy and humor to overcome obstacles, achieve goals, and live a fulfilling life.
In her free time, Michele enjoys spending time connecting with loved ones, reading, and most of all, cheering on her beloved Chicago sports teams, particularly the Chicago Blackhawks.
Michelle Mannino Purkey received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Purdue University and her master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University Calumet. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Michelle's areas of interest include medical family therapy and bereavement. Specifically, Michelle completed her master's thesis on the effects of cancer on the family. She compiled information about cancer support centers throughout the United States and the types of services they offer to people affected by cancer.
Michelle works from solution-focused approach and believes that people are the experts on their lives. She views her role as someone who can offer support and empathy as well as someone who can challenge and encourage people to find new solutions. Michelle believes that discussing and highlighting a person's strengths and prior successes is a critical part of therapy.
Dr. Mojgan Makki is a practicing Psychiatrist with over 15 years of experience. She is double board certificated physician with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child, Adolescents, and Adult Psychiatry. She has extensive experience in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings treating a wide range of mental health disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. She advocates for children and adolescent mental health through her involvement with national organizations and her work with the American Medical Association and Psychiatric Associations. Dr. Makki has been on the board of directors of the Illinois Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is currently a delegate to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has served as a medical director in inpatient child, adolescent, and adult psychiatric unit in Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO including at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Makki is dedicated to education. She has been a mentor to peers and trainees for over 15 years and continues to work with medical schools, residents, and fellows in training. In addition to her private practice in two locations (Glenview and Chicago), Dr. Makki is a consultant to a number of schools in Cook County and the Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL). Her philosophy of care is evidence-based and collaborative with the patients, families, and other health care providers that are involved with treating the patients.
Dr. Nicole Mozden is a board-certified pediatrician and clinical homeopathic physician. Dr. Nicole is from Palos Park, IL and currently resides in Orland Park, IL with her husband and three amazing children. She loves being part of this community and bringing an important focus to nutrition, natural health options and homeopathy in her general pediatric practice.
Dr. Nicole completed her undergraduate work at Indiana University and then went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College in 2003. She completed her pediatrics residency from Loyola in 2006 and has been practicing locally for over 10 years. Dr. Nicole has always been passionate about helping patients achieve their optimal health and stop the cycle of chronic illness and use of unnecessary pharmaceuticals. She expertly implements natural treatments that are safe and effective, like homeopathic medications, supplements, and nutrition to support the body during acute and chronic illness.
Dr. Nicole is available for consultation for those interested in the integration of homeopathic therapies with our child, adolescent and young adult clients.
Tammy Vosler graduated with a B.S. in Nursing from South Dakota State University after having grown up in the State of South Dakota. She has spent the vast majority of her 23 year nursing career in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center and at Mt. Sinai, Hartgrove and Silver Cross Hospital’s. She has been a nurse manager, nurse educator, charge nurse and school nurse all in the Chicagoland area. She is excited to utilize her past employment experiences to help her in her role as Long Term Care Clinical Coordinator and Nurse Liaison at Benchmark.
As the clinical coordinator for Benchmark’s 22+ contracted facilities, Tammy has clinical interaction with our providers, the facilities we service, and Benchmark each day, to ensure we are providing excellent care to the residents as well as the facilities we serve.
Tammy, is also the Intake coordinator for Benchmark, so if you are a new patient, it’s her voice you may hear on the other end of the phone coordinating details for your first visit with a Practitioner or Counselor. She hopes this is a supportive, caring phone call that leaves you feeling more at peace and full of hope as you begin your journey with Benchmark.
